State Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Advocate Quamrul Islam on Saturday stressed the need for cementing ties among the freedom fighters (FFs) to resist the anti-liberation forces, who want to cling state-power again through conspiracy. “The anti-liberation forces could not be resisted without cementing ties among the freedom fighters,” the state minister said, while addressing a discussion on “Responsibility of Freedom Fighters and Current Perspective of Bangladesh” in the city.
Dhaka District Unit Command of Muktijoddha Sangsad along with the initiative of Dhaka City Freedom Fighters organised the discussion at the Jatiya Press Club with Dhaka district unit Commander Amir Hossain Mollah in the chair.
Muktijoddha Central Command Council Chairman Major General (Retd) Helal Morshed Khan, Mirpur Region Commander Shahidul Haq Mama, Organising Secretary of the council Anwar Hossain Pahari, Joint Secretary Sharif Uddin and Muktijoddha Harron-or-Rashid, among others, took part in the discussion.
The state minister urged the FFs for forging unity among the fellow men as the anti-liberation forces are misleading the nation by spreading false information, saying time has come to stand against such misdeeds.
Quamrul said, “We should learn from past mistakes and cementing ties among the fellow FFs to overcome the situation otherwise we could not make any success in the next general elections.’
Chairman of the Council Helal Morshed Khan said, “We should gave up any sort of illegal paths to fulfil our demands, saying there is no alternative of unity among us to reach our expected goal.”
