1 Mustafizur Rahman became the first bowler in history to concede a free-hit off a no-ball that is not from the foot-over-stepping. The International Cricket Council in its recent annual conference changed the rule of no-ball, allowing a free-hit after all kinds of no-ball. The rule came in effect with the Sunday’s first Twenty20 International between Bangladesh and South Africa. So when Mustafiz sent down a beamer to South African captain Faf du Plessis, he inadvertently entered the history book when the umpire declared it as a no-ball and signaled for a free-hit. Only one run was scored in the first ever free-hit of this kind as batsman Rilee Rossouw clubbed away towards deep midwicket.
2 South African batsman AB de Villiers opened the innings only second time in his Twenty20 international career and could manage only two runs before he gave a catch to Mashrafee bin Murtaza off Arafat Sunny at cover.
45 When Sakib al Hasan trapped David Miller leg-before he became Bangladesh’s leading wicket-taker in Twenty20 Internationals, surpassing fellow left-arm spinner Abdur Razzak. Sakib has now 45 wickets from 37 matches. Razzak, on the other hand, got his 44 wickets from 34 matches. Sakib is also leading scorer for Bangladesh in shortest format of the game with 835 runs from 37 matches.
96 Bangladesh’s 96 all out against South Africa is their second lowest total in Twenty20 international on home soil. Their lowest Twenty20 score at home is 85-9 against Pakistan in Dhaka in 2011.
