Bangladesh Bank has decided to allow foreign nationals who
are making a living in the country to send home more money.
The foreign nationals can now send home 75 per cent of their net income from their current savings, which was previously 50 per cent, said a central bank notice issued on Monday.
It said the family remittance facility for the foreign nationals, who have the permission to send money home to support their families, were permitted to send 75 per cent of their net income to cover their commitments in their homeland.
The BB notice was sent to all the authorised dealers of foreign exchanges and will be effective immediately.
