At least four employees of the Bangladesh Cricket Board are in trouble for their reported connections with officials from the rival committee, officials said on Wednesday.
Assistant accounts manager Syed Abul Kashem, indoor and gymnasium in-charge Abdul Majid, canteen cook Yusuf and driver Sayed are all set to receive show-cause notices for what the officials claimed were indiscipline acts.
‘We decided to serve a show cause notice to four employees because they were involved in indiscipline acts,’ said Lokman Hossain Bhuyian, a member of the ad hoc committee. ‘You cannot terminate a permanent staff without issuing show-cause.’
It was learned that the
decision to serve show-cause notices came during the seventh meeting of the executive committee on
July 29.
Sources confirmed that the four employees were taken to task for being loyal to the group led by former BCB director Dewan Shafiul Arefin Tutul, who is pulling strings behind the scenes ahead of the upcoming elections.
Accounts assistant Kashem and driver Sayed attended an iftar party hosted by a former
curator known to be very close to Tutul. Yusuf
cooked the food for the occasion.
Majid was photographed with former BCB president Saber Hossain Chowdhury during his recent iftar
party.
