Four new national records were set on the second day of the Bashundhara 29th National Age Group Swimming Competition at the Syed Nazrul Islam National Swimming Complex at Mirpur on Saturday. Jahidul Islam set the national record in 100m butterfly in the 13-14 age-group category after clocking 1:04:17 minutes to earn a gold medal before Nayan Ali set another new record in 200m freestyle after clocking 2:22.39 minutes.
In the 9-10 age-group category, Rasheda Khatun set the national record with 36.59 seconds in the girls’ 50m freestyle event while Mariam Khatun repeated the feat in the 200m butterfly event of the 15-17 age-group category with a timing of 3:03.17 minutes.
BKSP lead the medal table with 41 gold, 29 silver and 23 bronze medals with Bangladesh Ansar, who have 9 gold, 13 silver and 9 bronze medals, a distant second.
The competition will end today.
