HSBC Bangladesh launched the fourth edition of HSBC Export Excellence Awards on Tuesday with a view to promoting Bangladeshi export and recognising the contribution of Bangladeshi exporters.
Each year, the programme recognises five exporters for their contribution to the sustainable growth of Bangladesh through export, said a press release.The exporters are recognised in the following five categories — Exporter of the Year (RMG and Textiles), Group A: annual export turnover $50 million or more and Group B: annual export turnover less than $50 million; Exporter of the Year (EPZ Enterprises); Exporter of the Year (Traditional and Emerging Sectors) for companies with an annual export turnover (non RMG/Textiles) of $3 million or more; and Exporter of the Year (SMEs) for companies with an annual export turnover of less than $3 million.
Winning exporters are selected based on not only the annual contribution to the national exports but also on the diversity, responsibility, sustainability and governance strengths of their respective businesses.
HSBC Bangladesh chief executive officer Andrew Tilke, head of corporate banking Md Mahbub-ur-Rahman and country head of communications Talukdar Noman Anwar spoke at the launch.
Exporters from Bangladesh can participate in the programme by filling in a simple nomination form available at www.hsbc.com.bd/eea
Exporters can also nominate other exporters for any categories of the programme.
The nomination phase is open till 30 July 2013.
The Bangladesh Brand Forum, Prothom Alo, The Daily Star and KPMG are the strategic partners of the award.
