The national teams committee (NTC) of the Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) are planning to organise eight friendly matches before the 10th SAFF Championship in Kathmandu in September, informed Kazi Nabil Ahmed, chairman of the committee on Monday.
`The national team will contest two FIFA friendly matches in England against India and Pakistan in June. Besides that, we are planning to arrange another six or seven matches at home and abroad,’ said Nabil.
Bangladesh played in two FIFA friendly matches against Thailand and Malaysia in November last year. The NTC want to invite them to play in Dhaka whilst also trying to arrange some matches against some Middle Eastern countries.
`We want to invite Thailand and Malaysia to play more than one match in Dhaka. We are also encouraging some Middle-East countries like Bahrain, United Arab Emirates and Qatar to play some friendly matches in the country or abroad,’ added Nabil.
After a heartbreaking elimination from the qualifying round of the AFC Challenge Cup, the BFF protested the decision of AFC but did not get a positive response. Now, the BFF is planning to ask the legal committee of AFC.
`Before participating in the AFC Congress, we will request the legal committee to investigate the matter which was dished to us in the AFC Challenge Cup qualifiers,’ said Nabil.
Nabil also notified that the Dutch coaches might arrive in Dhaka in the middle of May to take charge of the national team for the tour of London. The final agreement paper of the coaches will be finalised in the upcoming week.
