Education minister Dipu Moni on Saturday said that full-scale in-person classes at secondary and higher secondary level educational institutions across Bangladesh would begin from March 15.
From then in-person classes would be held on all subjects at the educational institutions like the pre-pandemic stage, she said in an inauguration programme at Tikatuli area in Dhaka on the day.
She inaugurated a new building at Sher-E-Bangla Girls High School, said a press release issued by the ministry.
Dipu Moni said that the number of examinations would be reduced when new curriculum would be implemented.
Evaluation of the students would be done everyday at the educational institutions, she added.
Secondary schools, colleges and universities across Bangladesh reopened on February 22 with limited in-person classes after a month-long closure due to a fresh wave of Covid-19 infections.
The limited in-person classes of primary schools resumed from March 2.
On January 21, the government announced the closure of schools, colleges and equivalent educational institutions across the country till February 6 to contain Covid-19.
The closure of educational institutions was later extended for two weeks.
Earlier, the government kept all educational institutions shut for more than one and a half years between March 18, 2020 and September 11, 2021 due to the Covid situation.
According to a UNICEF report, Bangladesh has seen the second longest closure of schools in the world due to Covid-19.
