Mass media organisaton Ghashphul honoured noted poets Syed Shamsul Haque and Hayat Mamud at its 5th founding anniversary programme at National Press Club on Saturday evening. Professor emeritus Anisuzzaman presided over the programme in presence of Rabeya Sultana, director of Ghashphul, and Rawnak Sultana, chairman of the organisation. Professor emeritus Anisuzzaman handed over the honorary crests to the Syed Shamsul Haque and Hayat Mamud for their contributions to the literary arena of the country.
‘It is indeed a great attempt by Ghashphul to honour the noted poets,’ said professor emeritus Anisuzzaman in his speech.
Hayat Mamud, on the other hand, said that a poet finds true contentment about his works when the general people shower him with love and honour.
Syed Shamsul Haque, in his speech, called upon the writers of the country to let people know about the real history of the war of independence through their writings.
