A girl allegedly committed suicide at Dakkhinkhan in the city on Tuesday.
Reshma Akter Bina, 14, a cleaner of a private company AK Traders at Airport, was found hanging from the ceiling fan inside her room at Ashkona in the evening.
Talking to The Daily Star, Hamida Begum, aunt of Bina, claimed that a colleague named Aman, aged around 20, had been teasing Bina for the last six months and threatened to abduct her on Monday evening after she walked out her office. “This harassment compelled her to commit suicide as she felt extremely insulted,” she said. Lokman Hekim, OC of Dakkhinkhan Police Station, said Aman was ignoring her for over one month and this negligence might have worked behind the incident. An UD case was filed.
