Grameenphone on Saturday invited young and talented students to participate in a competition under ‘Telenor Youth Summit-2013’ to be held in Oslo, Norway in December 9-11.
‘GP invites young people to submit innovative ideas for the summit. Bringing about positive social change in the country through applying mobile technology would be the focus,’ GP’s chief human resource officer Quazi Mohammad Shahed said at a press conference in the capital.
He said that the competition was open for students aged between18 to 25 and they would participate in the event by forming a team of two students.
One selected group from Bangladesh will get the opportunity to participate in the summit in Norway, he said.
The youth summit intends to be a platform for talented youths to display their dynamic ideas and how they want to make social change for better future, he added.
Participants will be able to place their ideas using GP`s facebook fan page till September 7. The grand finale of the competition of Bangladesh portion will be held on September 21 at the GP House at Bashundhara in the capital.
Winning team will participate in the summit in Oslo in December during Nobel Peace Prize Award ceremony.
The team will also get the opportunity to meet Nobel Laureates and to participate in the Nobel Peace Prize Award ceremony.
Replying to a question, Shahed said copy right of the ideas to be submitted by participants would be
in the hand of GP. However, if any idea is used for commercial purpose, the company will settle the issue by discussing with its developer, he said.
