YouNG green activists demand coherent steps to fight global climate change and successful discussion at World Climate Summit in Cancun in Mexico.
They placed their demands at a discussion organised by Youth in Action on Climate, a forum of 10 youth organisations working with climate change issues, at the Nabab Nawab Ali Chowdhury Senate Hall Bhaban in Dhaka University on Thursday.
Speakers at a discussion requested the delegates, who were going to join the 16th World Climate Summit in Cancun, to raise the issues and discussions on the problems of Bangladesh due to climate change.
They also suggested the Bangladesh delegation to discuss the ways and means and getting the due compensation from the countries responsible for the adverse affects.
About 97 representatives form the Bangladesh official delegation and representatives of various voluntary organisations working on the field were scheduled to join the summit.
Chaired by green activist Sharif Ahamed, the meeting was also addressed, among others, by Muhit Kabir, Iqbal Hossain, Musa Imam, Arif Hossain and Gias Uddin Chowdhury.
They demanded the green house gas emission should be reduced in 95 per cent in 2050 than in 1990.
