Nasiruddin Yousuff’s film on the war of independence Guerrilla was screened at the Indira Gandhi Cultural Centre in Gulshan on Saturday.
Guerrilla is a film that provides an insightful picture of the days of Bangladesh’s Liberation War of 1971. It depicts the intense struggle undertaken by progressive minded freedom fighters against the heinous torture, crimes against humanity and subjugation by Pakistani forces, to attain independence.
The screening of the film would be preceded by a brief discussion in which renowned actor and cultural personality, Pijush Bandyopadhyay and the film’s director Nasiruddin Yousuf Bachchu participated.
Earlier on Friday, Information minister Hasanul Haque Inu launched the DVD of Yousuff’s film Guerrilla at the National Art Plaza of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy.
Director general of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy Liaquat Ali Lucky, filmmaker Nasiruddin Yousuff, producer of the film Esha Eusuf, chairman of Laser Vision AKM Arifur Rahman and others delivered speeches at the programme.
The making process of the film was also screened at the programme.
