Hajj flights for carrying Bangladesh pilgrims to Saudi Arabia will begin on September 29.
A total of 1,07,425 pilgrims would perform Hajj from Bangladesh this year. Of which only 3,768 pilgrims will go under the government management while the rest under private management.
Religious Affairs Secretary Kazi Habibul Awal said while briefing journalists at his ministry after an inter-ministerial meeting on pre-Hajj preparation.
He said the religious affairs ministry is completely prepared to provide all necessary support to Hajj pilgrims including rented houses in Makkah and Madinah.
The secretary said President Zillur Rahman will inaugurate the Hajj programme in Hajj camp at Askona in city’s Uttara on September 28.
Fourteen airliners, including Biman Bangladesh Airlines and Saudi Airlines, will carry the pilgrims.
The operation of Hajj flights to Saudi Arabia by Biman Bangladesh and other airliners will end October 30 while by Saudi Airlines will conclude on November 3.
The return Hajj flights will begin on November 11.
