Saudi Arabia has approved a quota of 127,000 hajj pilgrims from Bangladesh for next year.
Religious Affairs Secretary Md A Hamid Zamadder said this yesterday at a meeting at the conference room of the religious affairs ministry, said meeting sources.
The meeting was held to discuss preparations for 2024 hajj operations.
Hamid said hajj registration for 2024 will start from September 16 this year and hajj visas will be issued from March 1 to April 29 next year.
Hajj flights will start from May 9.
The Hajj Package 2024 will be announced as soon as the Mina-Arafa-Muzdalifah service prices are declared by the Saudi government.
A total of 1.22 lakh Bangladeshis performed hajj this year.
Officials of the religious affairs ministry called upon the agencies and all concerned with management activities to carry out their responsibilities properly for the smooth operation of next year’s hajj.
