A half-marathon, organised by Big Bangla Run and sponsored by Ifad Group, will be held in Cox’s Bazar on Friday. The 21.1-kilometre international-standard run will start from Kalatoli Niribili Mosque at 7:00am and will end at the Inani beach point. About 1,500 runners from home and abroad are expected to participate in the race, organisers said at a press conference held in Cox’s Bazar on Wednesday.
The winners from both the men’s and women’s division will get $1,000 as prize money. The runner-up will get $700 while $500 will be given to the third-place finishers.
The top 10 participants from each division will also receive prizes from co-sponsor Walton Group. All participants who finish the race will receive a medal each.
The chairman of Ifad Big Bangla Run, Abidur Rahman Shimu, and brand ambassador of Big Bangla Run film star Ferdous were present at the press conference.
