Bangladesh national hockey players, who are currently playing for different German clubs, will reunite on Monday to start the final part of their preparations for the Asian Games, said Anvir Adil Khan, the co-coordinator of the national team.
A total of 19 players from the 30-member preliminary squad went to Germany on August 29 to play in Germany under the supervision of national coach Rach Gerhad Peter.
‘All the players have gone through extensive workouts in the clubs and now they will start playing as a team’, Adel said.
‘Firstly, the team will play some matches in Cologne
and will then move to Vienna, Austria. The team will complete their mission with a tour to Netherlands in the last week of October.’
Goalkeepers Zahid and Rasel, defenders Pintu, Sujan and Taposh, midfielders Nannu, Firoz and Shumon and forwards Habul and Prince played for SW Bonn while Jimmy and Chayan played for OD Dusseldorf.
Rana and Niloy wore the jerseys of CR Duisburg, while Biplob, Turjo, Pushkor Khisha and Krishna played for Austrian side SV Wein.
