Hossain Khaled was on Wednesday elected president of the Dhaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry for 2015, said a DCCI press release. The trade body also elected Humayun Rashid as senior vice president and Md Shoaib Chowdhury as vice president for the term, it said.
The newly-elected DCCI directors are: Hossain Aktar, Asif A Chowdhury, Khondakar Abdul Mottalib, Atiq-e-Rabbani, and Osman Ghani who will service as directors for 2015, 2016 and 2017 terms.
Khaled, who obtained a BBA degree from University of Toledo in Ohio and MBA degree from Texas A&M University of the United States, is the chairman of Bangladesh Finance and Investment Company and City Brokerage Ltd.
He is also the managing director of AG Automobiles and Anwar Jute Spinning Mills.
Khaled previously served as the DCCI president in 2007-08, senior vice president in 2006 and vice president in 2002-03.
The newly-elected senior Humayun Rashid is the managing director of Energypack Power Generation Ltd and vice-president Shoaib Chowdhury is the managing director of SS Vision Limited.
