Bangladesh Cricket Board will start the camp of its High Performance Unit on July 17 with 25 players but they will not get their Australian coach Simon Helmot from the beginning.
Helmot is currently working as the coach of Trinibago Knight Riders in the Caribbean Premier League and many assumed that he may not return here with the current condition of the country after a terrorist attack that took the lives of some foreigners.
But the BCB said that the programme was fixed earlier and Helmot will join the camp in the first week of next month after completing his CPL assignment.
Nazmul Abedin Fahim, manager of BCB’s game development committee will supervise the camp in absence of Helmot and Helmot’s assistant and the strength and conditioning coach of HP, Corey Bocking will assist him.
Along with them BCB employed five other specialist local coaches to conduct the camp.
According to BCB sources, Mizanur Rahman will work as pace bowling coach, Jafrul Ehsan will be batting coach, Sohel Islam will feature as fielding coach, Golam Mortaza will guide the wicketkeepers and Veteran leg-spinner Wahidul Gani will mentor the spinners.
