Results of the Higher Secondary Certificate and its equivalent examinations will be published today. The results will be published on Saturday, within 60 days after the examinations, Subodh Chandra Dhali, senior information officer of the education ministry told New Age on Friday.
The education minister, Nurul Islam Nahid, will first hand over the results to the prime minister, Sheikh Hasina, in the Prime Minister’s Office at 10:00am.
Nahid will also hold a press briefing at the ministry at 1:00pm.
The results will be available with colleges at 2:00pm. Students can check their results on the web site (www.educationboardresults.gov.bd).
Students can also get to know the results by sending text messages to mobile operators, with a charge. Students will need to send SMS to 16222 with the word ‘HSC’, without the quotes, followed by space then the first three letters of the education board followed by space and then the roll number.
This year, 10,12,581 students from 7,803 educational institutions took the exams under 10 educational boards, including madrassah and technical boards, at 2,288 centres across the country.
Of the total examinees, about 8.36 lakh are regular students. More than 1.67 lakh students are irregular (students not belonging to the current academic year).
The examinations were held in April and May.
Examinations of 41 subjects were rescheduled this year because of general strikes enforced by opposition parties and cyclone Mahasen.
