Shakhawat Ali Noble has admitted to killing her wife actress Raima Islam Shimu following domestic quarrel, according to police.
Keraniganj Model Police Station Inspector (Investigation), Kazi Ramjanul Haque, told media that during primary interrogation, Shakhawat confessed that he killed his wife.
Earlier today, police detained two persons, including the husband, in connection with her death.
The body of the actress, who went missing a few days ago, was found inside a sack near Hazratpur Bridge in Keraniganj, on the outskirts of the capital, yesterday.
Shimu made her film debut in 1998 with Kazi Hayat’s film, Bartaman.
She has appeared in 25 films directed by Delwar Jahan Jhantu, Chashi Nazrul Islam, Sharif Uddin Khan Dipu, and several others. She has also co-starred with actor Riaz, Shakib Khan, and Amit Hasan.
Besides movies, she acted in and produced a number of TV dramas.
She was an associate member of the Bangladesh Cholochitro Shilpi Samiti.
