Says Moutushi Biswas to New Age
Model turned actress Moutushi Biswas has once again become regular in TV soap series after taking a break for one and half year. Currently,
she is acting in three new drama serials.
In Oghoton Ghonton Potiyosi, scripted and directed by Ali Fida Ekram Tujo, Moutushi is playing the character of a girl who is very
outgoing and leads a fast life.She is also working in another drama serial titled Tit for Tat scripted and directed by Alvi Ahmed. The drama will be aired soon. Meanwhile, Moutushi also shot for a new drama serial named Bhalobasar Chotuskon directed by Shihab Shahin and is currently being aired on Ntv.
Although busy with work, Moutushi is career-oriented. ‘My family is my first priority and I always do selective work. My characters in these three drama serials are very different. I hope the audience will like them,’ says Moutushi.
Besides acting, Moutushi is also a talented dancer, she was awarded a gold medal in Manipuri Dance in a national dance competition when she was in school. She has worked as a ramp model under supervision of artiste Afzal Hossin before she joined the small screen as an actor.
Moutushi came into the lime light after hosting a popular travel show ‘Adventure Bangladesh’ on Ekushey TV in 2000. Soon she was seen in TV plays and she managed to establish herself as an actor within a very short period of time. She acted for the first time in drama series Ekannoborti directed by Mostafa Sarwar Faruki.
‘After acting in Ekannoborti, I was totally into the showbiz world, sort of fell in love with it, you could say’, she said.
‘While I was working the drama series, Faruki offered me a role in his film Bachelor. Acting in a film didn’t seem all that different to me, so I went ahead with it, which turned out to be a good decision for my career,’ she added.
Regarding plans for the future, Moutushi said she hasn’t figured it out at this point but she will continue to remain selective about the characters she plays on the small screen.
