Sarika tells New Age
Popular model-actress Sarika had taken some time off work due to her wedding; but she however, intends to be back at work after the upcoming Eid-ul-Azha festival. In an exclusive interview with New Age, Sarika stressed that this time, she will be more selective about the roles she chooses.
The actress was last seen in Backdated, written and directed by Apurba, which was screened on NTV during last Eid-ul-Fitr festival. She informed that currently she has some very lucrative offers in hand but she intends to take her time in making her work decisions as she prioritises quality more than quantity.
‘I don’t mind working in fewer teleplays, as long as the story it tells is appealing; and it’s made by good makers. I would see lesser work as a blessing in disguise as I want to spend more time with my family and husband,’ told Sarika, who took a hiatus from acting for her wedding ceremony with businessman Mahim Karim that took place on August 12.
Before her marriage, Sarika had stated in the media that she would sign a film shortly but presently she has changed her mind about films.
‘I will wait a bit more before signing any film that comes my way, as working in a film is a huge decision. Right now, I’m happy with just observing the condition of Bangladeshi cinema, and, if I realise that our films are developing, I will definitely make my film debut,’ said Sarika.
The actress stepped into the media as a TVC model and she debuted in teleplays with Camellia, which was directed by Ashutosh Sujon. She proved her potentiality and was acclaimed for her performance in Rumali, which was written by Humayun Ahmed and directed by Arun Chowdhury. Sarika has done numerous TVCs and teleplays so far.
