Team Bazinga consisting Sanjir Ali, Waseem Khan, Siam Rahman and Samiul Hossain of the Institute of Business Administration, University of Dhaka have won
the Bangladesh Finale of HSBC Business Case Competition 2013.
As the winner of the Gold award, Team Bazinga will now compete in the regional grand finale in Hong Kong with teams from 24 universities of 15 different countries participating.
Team Foursight featuring Khalid Al Mashfique, Aneeka Tasneem Preemu, Nafisa Iqbal and Tanzeer Siddiquee of the IBA, DU won the Silver award while Team Four Angry Pencils made up of Jidny Rubaiyat Shoummo, Muhammad Touhidul Islam, Injamam-ul Alam and Md Ayman Sadiq of the same institution grabbed the Bronze award.
The Gold, Silver and Bronze award winning teams will receive a team development fund of Tk 75,000, Tk 50,000 and Tk 35,000 respectively.
Six teams from the leading universities of the country took part in the Bangladesh finale where teams received a business case and later presented their solutions and recommendations to a panel of judges.
The judges’ panel included Google Bangladesh country consultant Kazi Monirul Kabir, The Daily Star business editor Arun Devnath, HSBC Bangladesh chief operating officer Ahmed Saiful Islam and HSBC Bangladesh head of marketing, communications and sustainability Talukdar Noman Anwar.
Launched this year for the undergraduate business school students of Bangladesh, HSBC Business Case Competition is a regional competition designed to encourage young talent to unleash the power of potential, said a press release.
More than 550 teams registered for the first round of the competition and subsequent rounds of competition were held to find the six finalist teams for the Bangladesh finale.
