A mobile court of the Bangladesh Standards and Testing Institution fined an ice-cream and a drinking water producing factory Tk 1.3lakh on charge of selling their
products without testing quality and certification from the BSTI.
During the drive at South Mugda, the mobile court found Imu Drinking Water filling up bottles taking water directly from WASA supply line. The court sealed off the factory and fined its owner Tk 80,000.
In another drive at North Mugda, the mobile court found Mariya Ice-cream factory producing ice-cream in an unhygienic condition and using harmful chemicals.
The court seized a huge quantity of ice-creams from the ice-cream factory and later destroyed it.
