Ravindra Jadeja and Mohammed Shami shared seven wickets between them as India beat West Indies by 48 runs in the second one-day international to square off the five-match series 1-1 in New Delhi on Saturday. Chasing a target of 264 runs, West Indies seemed heading towards an easy win when Dwayne Smith played an explosive innings of 97 runs in as many balls, but Shami and Jadeja triggered a collapse to dismiss them well short.
The Caribbeans, who won the first match at Kochi by 124 runs, lost their last seven wickets for 45 runs before they were finally all out for 215 in 46.3 overs.
Shami finished with 4-36, his consecutive four-wicket haul in the series while Jadeja claimed 3-44.
Earlier, Suresh Raina hit a sparkling 62 and Virat Kohli(62) struck his first half-century in eight months as India posted a competitive 263 for seven.
Raina carried his splendid Twenty20 form into the match and Kohli regained his lost touch as the duo added 105 runs for the fourth wicket after a sedate start.
Skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni also contributed with an unbeaten 51.
The third match of the series will be held in Visakhapatnam on October 14.
