A Dhaka court on Sunday acquitted Indian national Atanu Dutta as the investigation officer of the case said that he did not find any evidence of match-fixing against the accused.
Metropolitan Magistrate Yunus Ali dismissed the case after the IO and Mirpur police sub-inspector Enamul Haque submitted the final report before the court saying that he did not find any authenticity of the allegation against the Indian national.
When contacted, the IO declined to comment on the matter.
Police on April 13 arrested Indian national Atanu for the second time from the capital’s Mirpur area in less than a week after he was released on bail.
There were reports that Atanu had been in Bangladesh allegedly to run some gambling during the ICC World Twenty20.
