The intake test of the third batch of Barisal University will be held on November 28.
The 120-mark written intake test in MCQ system will be held in three shifts at 11 centres including temporary and permanent campus of the university, four government colleges and two government schools, one government technical institute, two private colleges in the city.A total of 29,690 admission seekers registered for the test against 1,160 seats of 16 departments of six faculties under 4 units for the academic session of 2013-14, said Shafiul Alam, technical committee chief of BU admission committee.
Out of 29,690 applicants, 5,170 applied for 370 seats under ‘Ka’ unit including 80 seats for mathematics, 80 for chemistry, 50 for computer science and engineering of science and engineering faculty, 80 for soil and environment science and 80 for botany and crop science of agriculture faculty.
Under ‘Kha’ unit, 6,688 candidates applied for 490 seats in for 70 seats of economics, 70 for political science, 70 for social science and 70 for public administration of social science, 70 for Bangla, and 70 for English of arts and humanities and 70 for law of law faculties.
A total of 10,675 candidates applied for 300 seats — 75 for management studies, 75 for marketing, 75 for accounting and information systems and 75 for finance and banking of business faculty under ‘Ga’ unit.
Besides 7,157 candidates under ‘Gha’ unit applied for 235 seats reserved for admission by changing subject or faculty, the BU official told.
The one-hour written test would be held in 3 shifts — 10:00am-11:00am for ‘Gha’ unit, 1:00pm-2:00pm for ‘Ga’ and 4:00pm-5:00pm for ‘Ka’ and ‘Kha’ units.
