A three-day scientific conference was launched with an aim to create a network for the implementation of ‘One World One Health’ programme in Chittagong on Thursday.
Chittagong Veterinary and Animal Sciences University organised the programme on the campus.
CVASU vice-chancellor Nitish Chandra Debnath chaired the conference while Bangladesh Agricultural University vice-chancellor Abdus Sattar Mandol, health department director general Shah Monir and livestock department director general Ashraf Ali joined the conference as especial guest on the inauguration day.
A number of scientists, researchers, educationists, environmentalists and biologists from different countries, including United Kingdom, United States, Denmark, India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Nepal had been attending the conference, the university sources said.
A total of 49 keynote papers and research articles, including three papers on anthrax, four on avian influenza, three on Nipah virus, six on food security and ten on other diseases would be presented at different sessions of the conference, sources added.
