The Jaipurhat Chamber of Commerce and Industry
elected its 18-member new executive body on Saturday.
The general group led by Abdul Hakim Mondal secured 12 posts while
the associate group led by Ziaul Haque secured 6 posts.The elections of the chamber were held for the first time in 10 years.
The voting started at 8.00am and continued till 5.00pm.
Abu Raihan Dolon, executive magistrate of Jaipurhat, announced the result on Sunday.
Chamber sources said that the last election of Jaipurhat chamber was held in 2003. The governing body the chamber formed through selection in 2006-07 and 2008-09.
