CSE meeting told
A two-member delegation of ORIX Corporation, a Japan-based investment firm, visited the Dhaka office of Chittagong Stock Exchange on Thursday to explore the investment opportunities in the county’s stock market and financial sector. The delegation consists of ORIX Investment and Management managing director Shinji Yamana and Global Business and Alternative Investments Headquarters’ Corporate Finance Group vice-president Kyoko Mori.
The duo also sat in a meeting with the CSE with its president Al Maruf Khan in the chair. CSE vice-president Mirza Salman Ispahani, director MKM Mohiuddin and chief executive officer Syed Sajid Husain were also present at the meeting.
The present investment situation of the country, potentials of the country’s stock market, scope of foreign investment, demutualisation of the bourses and the capability of the trading software were discussed in the meeting, a CSE press release said.
The delegation of the ORIX group expressed their keen interest to invest in the country’s capital market as well as in the financial sector, Al Maruf Khan told reporters after the meeting.
