Joler Gaan moves hundreds of audience
Tens of thousands of people of all ages gathered on the Dhaka University campus on Friday to celebrate the Valentine’s Day. And those who could enter into the faculty of fine arts of the university considered themselves lucky to be a part of the moving performance by Joler Gaan.
The band moved the hundreds of audience in a Valentine’s Day open air concert at the faculty presenting songs in its distinctive fusion style.
The troupe presented six songs from its debut album Atal Joler Gaan, which has already got huge popularity, and also played a few new numbers at the concert.
The show at the Bakultala of the faculty began with the presentation of the very popular fusion song Bakul Phul Bakul Phul with a prelude of a sharp melodious flute recital by Rahul Ananda.
As the day was linked with celebrating love, the band entertained the crowd playing one after another romantic songs such as Shoya Jao, Lilua Batash, Kagojer Nouka, Andhar Raite Chander Alo, Ei Gaanta Dilam Toke and Ei Pagoler Bhalobasa Tuku with the acoustics of violin, traditional instruments such as flute and dhol, and improvised instruments like chandrabhan, tarabhan and others made by Rahul.
The delighted audience also joined with the band members as the band presented its unique romantic songs such as Jhara Pata and Dure Thaka Megh, which appeared relevant to the spirit of the Valentine’s Day.
‘Joler Gaan is fabulous. I am so happy to be here’, said an excited Shima Ahmed.
‘Joler Gaan made my day joyous’, said another delighted audience Sweet Aditto.
