A two-member delegation of JP Morgan Chase Bank, an American multinational banking and financial institution, visited the Dhaka Stock Exchange on Tuesday to find
investment opportunities in the Bangladesh capital market.
The delegation which included JP Morgan Chase Bank vice-president Stephen Phillpotts and assistant vice-president Raushanah Bowdre held a meeting with the DSE board during the visit.
JP Morgan’s local investment partner Standard Chartered Bank service management and transaction banking director Simon Kyte and investors and intermediaries head Tanzir Islam accompanied them during the visit.
DSE president Ahasanul Islam Titu, senior vice-president Mohammad Shahjahan, vice-president Mizanur Rahman Khan and chief executive office Swapan Kumar Bala were present, among others, in the meeting.
‘We have informed them about the opportunities of investment in the country’s stock market for the foreign investors,’ the DSE president told reporters after the meeting.
He said they had also informed them about different development works of the bourse, settlement guarantee fund, investors’ protection fund and the demutualisation process of the bourse.
‘We are visiting the stock exchange to explore the investment opportunities in the country’s stock market,’ Tanzir told reporters after the meeting.
He said during the meeting they had discussed different development works of the stock exchange.
