Bangladesh Under-19 cricket team continued their winning run as they beat their South African counterparts by 29 runs in their second match of the youth one-day international series in Durban on Tuesday. The junior Tigers who smashed the African side 6-1 in their home series early in the year extended their lead to 2-0 in the seven-match series having won the first match by eight wickets.
The visitors restricted the home side to 128-9 while chasing Bangladesh’s 157-4 after the match was delayed by rain and curtailed to a 30-over per side affair.
Mosabbek Hossain and captain Mehedi Hasan picked up three wickets each for 19 and 33 runs respectively after Rifat Pradhan gave them two early breakthroughs and finished with 2-13.
Earlier, skipper Mehedi, scored 57 off 50 balls and wicketkeeper batsman Zakir Hasan was not out on 33 to help amassed 157 for their side after they were sent in to bat.
