The results of Junior School Certificate (JSC) and Junior Dakhil Certificate (JDC) examinations will be simultaneously published across the country today.
The examinees will get their results from their respective exam centres and education boards, on websites and through SMS from 2:00pm. Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid will formally announce the results at a press conference at his ministry at 1:00pm on the day after handing over a copy of the results to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at 10:00am.
The results will also be available at www.educationboardresults.gov.bd, a common website of all the education boards. The results will be published in the grading system. The candidates can also obtain their results through short message service (SMS) to mobile phone operators.
The examinations were supposed to begin on November 4, but could not be held because of the opposition’s shutdowns. The tests began on November 7 with more than 19 lakh class-VIII students from the country’s 27,748 schools and madrasas taking them. Some 10,07,655 girls and 8,95,091 boys had registered to sit for the exams this year.
But the authorities had to struggle to hold the exams for political turmoil centring on the upcoming national elections. A number of examinations had been rescheduled and the authorities had to hold the exams at the weekends to complete the tests.
Eight general education boards and one madrasa board conducted the examinations, which were held at 2,420 centres.
