Hollywood actress Julianne Moore is joining the cast of the Hunger Games as President Alma Coin, reports BBC. The Boogie Nights star will appear in
Mockingjay parts one and two.
Moore, 52, will appear on screen with Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson and Liam Hemsworth in the third and fourth instalments of the film franchise. The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part one will be released on 21 November 2014 with the follow-up released a year later.
Before those two films, The Hunger Games: Catching Fire is out on 21 November this year. The Hunger Games book trilogy tells the tale of a group of teenagers forced to fight to the death at a televised event in the future nation of Panem.
The Mockingjay films follow Katniss Everdeen’s (Jennifer Lawrence) journey as she helps Panem rebel against the Capitol. The films are directed by Francis Lawrence and are based on the novels of Suzanne Collins.
Philip Seymour Hoffman and Donald Sutherland return in their roles as Plutarch Havensbee and Coriolanus Snow with Natalie Dormer, Stef Dawson and Evan Ross also joining the cast.
The first instalment of the franchise is the 14th highest-grossing release in North America making nearly $700 million (£441m) at the worldwide box office.
