Julianne Moore won the Hollywood Actress Award for her work in Still Alice, reports Hollywood Reporters. Her performance as a linguistics professor with Alzheimer’s Disease is winning the four-time Oscar nominee significant awards buzz. She stars in Richard Glatzer and Wash Westmoreland’s film with Alec Baldwin and Kristen Stewart, who presented her with the award. ‘Spending five minutes in her presence is a gift for anyone who considers him or herself an actor,’ Stewart said of her co-star at Friday’s Hollywood Film Awards.
Moore had kind words for Stewart in return. ’She’s the same special and wonderful person she was when she was 12 years old,’ the actress said, referring to their first meeting when Stewart appeared in a 2004 film, Catch That Kid, directed by Moore’s husband Bart Freundlich.
Still Alice premiered to favorable reviews at the Toronto Film Festival, where it was picked up for U.S. release by Sony Pictures Classics.
