The Bangladesh Cricket Board on Tuesday announced its squad for the Asian Cricket Council Under-19 Asia Cup UAE 2014, which begins on Saturday.
Coach Richard McInnes’ side have been drawn in Group B with Sri Lanka, Afghanistan and Malaysia. Group A features India, Pakistan, Nepal and hosts UAE.
The Bangladesh U-19 side, whose preparation for the tournament was hindered after the West Indies U-19s cut short their tour of Bangladesh earlier this month due to security concerns, will leave Dhaka for Dubai on Thursday.
The Junior Tigers are scheduled to play all three of their group games in Abu Dhabi. They begin their campaign on Saturday when they face off against Malaysia. They play Afghanistan on Sunday and they take on Sri Lanka on New Year’s Eve in a clash between the group favourites.
The top two teams in each group will advance to the semi-finals on January 2, 2014. The final is on January 4.
