Popular film-star Kabori of the ruling party brought life and laughter in the otherwise dull and drab proceedings of parliament in the absence of the opposition.
Her name appeared as ‘Begum Sarah Begum Kabori’ in today’s question-answer paper. This caught the eyes of humorous Speaker Abdul Hamid.
“You are loaded with double Begums. Should you double live as two Begums,” a witty Hamid asked Kabori inviting her to put the written question to the Home Minister, Sahara Khatun.
The remarks about the movie idol caused a gale of laughter in the House.
Smiling, Kabori stood on her leg as the whole house kept prying at Kabori who still looks young in her late 50s. “It will be alright if I’m called Sarah Kabori,” she told the chair.
“SINGLE OR DOUBLE BEGUM?” poked the Speaker.
“Hon’ble Speaker, I’m single,” retorted Kabori, stirring another gale of laughter in the house.
