BNP chairperson and leader of the opposition Khaleda Zia left Dhaka for Singapore
on Sunday for medical purposes, party sources said.
The opposition leader will be admitted at the Mount Elizabeth Hospital, her Special Assistant Shamsur Rahman Shimul Biswas told The Independent. On February 19, Khaleda Zia went to the same hospital in Singapore for treatment. “Now she is going there for a follow-up check-up as per her doctor’s advice,” Biswas said.
Accompanied by her family members, the BNP chief went to the island state on a regular flight of the Singapore Airlines.
Khaleda Zia also received treatment in Singapore as well as in Saudi Arabia last year. She is expected to return home on June 24, Biswas said.
