The Bangladesh Nationalist Party chairperson Khaleda Zia leaves Dhaka for Saudi Arabia today to perform Umrah at the invitation of the Saudi government.
She is scheduled to fly from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in a flight of Emirates Airlines in the evening.
Her APS Mohammad Suratuzzaman, her younger brother’s wife Kaniz Fatema, nephew Faiyek Eskander and BNP chairperson’s Saudi Arabia affairs special envoy Enamul Huq Chowdhry would accompany Khaleda Zia.
She is expected to return home on August 17, according to sources at BNP chairperson’s office.
Khaleda, also leader of the opposition in parliament, had last performed Umrah during her visit to Saudi Arabia in June this year.
