Khulna University students continued their demonstration on Wednesday, putting up barricades on Khulna-Satkhira highway and locking the administrative building on the campus.
Over a thousand students of seven disciplines under life science school started their agitation on Monday after their examination scheduled for the day was suspended amid teachers’ strike.
Because of the barricade, traffic between Khulna and Satkhira remained disrupted till 1:30pm.
Meanwhile, a group of teachers staged sit-in in front of the office of vice-chancellor to express solidarity with movement of students.
The prevailing stalemate began with the appointment of life science school dean.
Professor Samir Kumar Shadhu, who was a teacher of the pharmacy, has been appointed the dean allegedly superseding senior teachers.
When contacted, vice-chancellor Professor Fayekuzzaman termed the strike by teachers and movement of students ‘illogical’.
