Bangladesh all-rounder Sakib al Hasan is among the players retained by the Indian Premier League champions Kolkata Knight Riders for the upcoming season.
According to a media release posted on the official website of the IPL on Wednesday, a total of 123 cricketers including 79 Indians and 44 overseas players were retained by the franchises for the 2015 edition.
Among the overseas players, KKR also retained Andre Russell, Chris Lynn, Morne Morkel, Patrick Cummins, Ryan ten Doeschate, and Sunil Narine alongside Sakib.
Sakib, whose ban on playing in the overseas league has been lifted recently, however, is unlikely to play in the season as its schedule clashes with a proposed home series against Pakistan.
Sakib is currently negotiation with Melbourne Renegades for Australia’s Big Bash Twenty20 Tournament, which begins today.
