The Khulna Metropolitan Police is going to introduce online general diary service, first of such kind outside the Dhaka city, soon.
Officials in KMP, however, said the service may be delayed due to some technical problems.
The KMP deputy commissioner (South), Md Zulfikar Ali Haidar, said that online GD will be received by the KMP very soon with the cooperation of the police headquarters.
The Khulna city people can also inform the police online about any criminal activity and KMP would maintain sender’s secrecy, he added.
The website of KMP will be inaugurated at the digital fair to begin in Khulna city today. The GD service is expected to be active after a few days.
They, however, said the online GD will not be responded on emergency basis. The entries would be monitored by the KMP high officials at its headquarters.
The officers-in-charge under KMP – Khulna Sadar, Khalishpur, Sonadanga, Doulatpur and Khan Jahan Ali police stations – will not be able to download or view any online document, they said.
Only the KMP high officials will monitor the issue and they will select and send the relevant document to the concerned police station to be addressed, the sources said.
