Popular singer Dilshad Nahar Kona will be revealing her versatile talents through diverse programmes this Eid. Those who are acquainted with Kona’s skills as a singer of rendering diverse genres of music will also discover her talents as a classical dancer and talk show host. She will also present her songs in a solo musical show.
‘I love diversity so I decided to make various presentations for my fans in the Eid festival. I will be seen performing classical bharatnattyam dance in popular magazine show Ityadi, which will be aired on BTV.’
‘I will also anchor a talk show to be aired on Maasranga TV where small screen actors will render songs,’ said Kona adding that she enjoys taking up new challenges.
Kona will be appearing in only one musical programme for this Eid. ‘Well, I’m very selective. I liked the concept of the solo musical show scheduled to be aired on ATN Bangla where I will present songs and talk on the popular numbers,’ said Kona, who earned immense popularity for her hit numbers like Barsha, Projapati and Dhin taana.
Kona, who is also busy lending her voice for playbacks these days, further added that she had recorded three songs in two films releasing for EId. ‘I’ve lent my voice in two playbacks for Bhalobasha Aaj Kal and another for Dhaka to Bomday.’
However Kona has no plans to release any album this Eid. ‘I’m working on my fifth album, which will be released soon. I’ll gradually release the details of the album,’ the singer chirped.
Kona has received training in classical vocal music, Rabindra Sangeet, Nazrul Sangeet and Lalon songs.
She released her first solo music album in 2006 titled Jamitic Bhalobasha comprising soft pop-based songs that drew huge attention from the music lovers of the country. Her second solo album titled Fuad Featuring Kona was released in 2008.
Kona released her third solo, Simply Kona in 2011 in which two of the songs were composed by Sri Lankan singer-composer Iraj Weeraratne.For this album, Kona along with Iraj were nominated for Hollywood Music Media Award 2011 for the track Your Love in the Pop Category. In 2012, Kona released her music video album of her earlier audio music album Simply Kona that featured her as the model.
