The Korea Cup Taekwondo Tournament 2010 gets under way on Friday at the National Sports Council gymnasium, it was announced at a press briefing on Wednesday.
The event has been jointly organised by the Bangladesh Taekwondo Federation, South Korean Embassy in Dhaka and Korea International Cooperation Agency.
The winners will receive prizes which include colour TV, video camera and other electronic items, to be given by the South Korean Embassy.
A total of 24 teams from across the country will be participating in the two-day event. The teams are Bangladesh Army Sports
Board, Bangladesh Rifles, Bangladesh Ansar and VDP, Rajshahi Division Sport Board, Cox’s Bazar, Rangamati, Khagrachhari, Bandarban, Manikgang, Comilla, Narsingdi, Dinajpur, Natore, Sylhet, Gazipur, Satkhira, Sirajgang, Narayangang, BG Press, Bangladesh Railway, BFDC and Dhaka City Corporation.
Taekwondo federation president Kazi Morshed Hossain Kamal, vice-president Wahidur Zaman Majumder, joint secretary Saidur Rahman Swapan and Korean coach Lee Ju-sang spoke at the press conference.
