Defending Dhaka Premier League champions Legends of Rupganj demanded their crucial eighth round match against Prime Bank Cricket Club to be played at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium instead of BKSP on December 3. In a letter to the Bangladesh Cricket Board president Nazmul Hasan on Saturday, Legends said being the defending champions they deserve to play some matches at the SBNS, country’s premium cricket venue.
‘We are surprised to see none of our matches for the seventh, eighth and ninth round were kept at the stadium,’ it said in the letter, which was also circulated to the media on Sunday.
‘But teams that have been languishing at the bottom of the table are given the privilege. We strongly protest this injustice,’ said the letter.
‘We also request you to give our eighth round match at the Sher-e-Bangla.’
Legends are currently trailing Prime Bank by two points at the points table.
