Students of seven disciplines of life science school of Khulna University have threatened to go on fast-unto-death if the authorities concerned do not announce the
specific date for holding term final examination by 1:00pm on July 7.
They made the announcement at a press conference held at Khulna Press Club at 12:30pm on Wednesday.
Over a hundred of aggrieved students of the school were present at the press conference.
The students blamed two rival groups of teachers for vitiating academic atmosphere on the campus.
They said the term final examination was supposed to be held on April 17 this year but it could not be held as two rival groups of teachers were now locked in controversy over appointment of a new dean of the life science school.
A group of teachers has been abstaining from academic and administrative activities opposing appointment of a junior teacher as new dean while the other group was justifying the appointment.
