The Bangladesh Cricket Board announced on Sunday the national team for the upcoming three-match T20 International series against Afghanistan, set to take place in Sharjah, UAE on October 2, 3, and 5.
Jaker Ali Anik will continue to captain the team in the absence of regular skipper Liton Das, who is out due to an injury he picked up during the Asia Cup earlier this month.
National Team Physio Bayjedul Islam Khan said: ‘He [Das] had missed the last two matches of the Asia Cup with a side strain. An MRI scan has revealed a grade 1 strain on the left abdominal muscle. He is undergoing recovery and will not be available for the T20 series. Batter Soumya Sarkar has been called up to the T20 squad for the Afghanistan series. The 32-year old left-hander is the only change to the squad which had played in the Asia Cup.
