The splendour of natural beauties of Bangladesh and the diverse life of the people have been presented by 16 Bangladeshi and 19 Australian
photographers in a group exhibition.
The five-day photography show titled Open Enquiry is going on at the Drik Gallery in Dhanmondi.
Open Enquiry features about 175 photographs taken by 19 Australian students from Edith Cowan University in Perth and 16 students of local photography institute Pathsala. The exhibition is an outcome of a month-long joint workshop between Pathsala and School of Communication and Arts of Edith Cowan University which began on January 02.
The eye-soothing landscape of Bangladesh has always fascinated locals and foreign tourists. Such a stunning view has been lensed by Australian photographer Alana Hall in her untitled image that shows a vast waterbody of a local river that merges with the enormous sky in the far horizon.
Local photographer Mohammad Hadiuddin, on the other hand, has captured the magnificence of the hill tracks of the country through his lenses. The untitled image shows a zigzag path making its way among the green mountains.
Bangladesh as a region that offers diversity in human life is also displayed at the show. The daily struggle of the lower class people especially the day laboruers has been captured in a photograph that shows a man working in the street at night, by Mohammad Mahtab Hossain.
However, Bangladesh is not only about the people struggling for survival, rather there is quite an opposite picture of life with all its potentialities and glories in this country.
Foreign photographer Foulkes Taylor’s image at the exhibition shows a young woman dancing with all her heart, caught in a midair dance step.
Began on February 03, the exhibition will remain open from 3:00 to 8:00pm till February 07.
